CoinHub was founded by Blake Alma on January 22, 2020. Blake under the inspiration of his mother created a TikTok and Instagram page titling it CoinHub. From there Blake produced dozens of videos regarding modern U.S. coin errors and their values. Within his first month, Blake accomlated more that 20,000 followers and 2 million video views on TikTok. However, after initial success Blake choose to focus on personal matters rather than producing new content.

In August of 2020, Blake revived his channel by posting a video about a Coca-Cola bottle cap coin produced in the country of Fiji. The video accumulated more than a quarter-million views and tripled his follow count to 60,000. By that October, CoinHub had more than 300,000 followers and 75 million video views on TikTok.

In June of 2022, Blake signed a partnership deal with WhatNot Inc to promote WhatNot's new coin auctioning platform.

Today, CoinHub has more than 1.8 million followers and 200 million video views.

Blake corporated CoinHub with the new name CoinHub Media. He moved the company to Lebanon, Ohio in November of 2022.
